Betsy began her career as a freelance writer and editor after achieving a Bachelor's Degree in English from the University of Central Florida and pursuing further studies at the New York University School of Publishing. Intrigued and inspired by the open-minded nature of Spiritualism, she frequented the Cassadaga Spiritualist Camp, where she first discovered that she had the ability and desire to be of service through hands-on healing. She has journeyed to Peru where her learning experiences with Quechuan shamans have led her to further explore the fields of metaphysics and vibrational healing.

Betsy opened the Healing Journeys Center for Alternative Health in Deland, Florida, which unfortunately was forced to close due to damage incurred by the hurricanes of 2004. She has attained Human and Universal Energy Level II certification, advanced training in biogenesis healing and crystal healing, and has studied with world-renowned healers Melody, Naisha Ahsian, and Jane Ann Dow. Her studies in metaphysics and vibrational healing with Dr. James Thomas have reached an intermediate level and are ongoing. Betsy is currently the proprietress of 'The Best Press Releases', a press release writing service specializing in metaphysical and alternative health web site promotion.
