INNER HEALING MEDITATION

Now let us put our hymnals aside and anything that may disturb us.

Begin by getting comfortable in your seats
perhaps with your feet flat on the floor and

your hands resting in your lap in a palms up receiving position,
and then gently closing your eyes. 

 

Allow yourself to begin by drawing in one... Full... Deep and easy breath.
As the air flows into your body, imagine that it contains soothing healing,
properties. As you draw in another full.. Deep... Breath, you imagine that the
healing breath is flowing throughout your body, healing, soothing. Then as
you release each breath, the air that flows from your body carries away any
tension that you may have been feeling when you began. Let it go...
See it moving out and away from your body. And when you bring in the next breath, feel it moving to an even deeper place within you, soothing and relaxing even more of your body. And bringing up even more tension, even more toxins, Releasing even more tightness... With each succeeding breath it is going a little deeper Until your breath is reaching into every part, every extremity of your body, Soothing... Releasing... Relaxing... Healing.

Just for a moment, be aware of any place in your body That feels uncomfortable.
Say the word to yourself, like "head" or "neck" or "foot." Then as you take your
next breath, Send the air to those parts of your body, allowing them to besoothed and healed. See in that vivid imagination of yours, your toes uncurling,
knots untying, Stiffness being soothed, like wrinkles being ironed out of a shirt.

 

Now that you are relaxing more and more deeply in your body, you feel a growing sense of ease moving into your mind, Just like a fine mist... See that mist now, in any colour that you find soothing. Continue to breathe it in; and watch it curl around your thoughts, Gently embracing them and reminding them that this is your time to be at peace, your time to be at ease, Regardless of whatever else is happening in your life.

And once again, give yourself permission to relax.
All that is real at this moment is the here and now,
So just... Let... It...be, and let go, and relax.
If troubling thoughts arise, that's all right ... Let them be,
And send the mist to surround them and waft them away,
As though on a gentle wisp of wind.

Now that you are relaxing deeper and deeper into
A state of peace and ease, you are beginning to focus on
that secret place deep within you, You can see a small white light shining softly, beckoning you toward it with it's gentle glow. You start to draw near to it, Attracted by it's soft warm illumination, and as you come closer,
You find that your entire being is getting bathed in this gentle, embracing, loving light.

Just as the warm sun energizes your physical body, so is this light cleansing
and re-vitalizing your spirit. The soft light is cleansing your inner self
of those negative emotions that are so hard to get rid of entirely.
Those lingering feelings of resentment, from whatever source,
and from whatever time, some of them may even go back
To your early childhood. You can feel that the glow of the soft white light is
replacing those negative feelings, leaving in their place more compassionate feelings and emotions for all of those that may have contributed to the resentment you have harboured up to this time.

Let your mind focus inward now. Until finally you find yourself deep within, at the very centre of your being, that very secret place within, where you become at one with Spirit.

Let your mind travel now, to your favorite place, a place that only you can envision for yourself, a place where you may greet your spirit friends, be they angels, guides or counsellors, and feel the loving warmth of their presence, and acknowledge their gentle, caring support in all you do. You know that they are there for you always, you need only ask, and accept.

Experience now the uplifting of your own inner spirit, as you feel yourself drawing closer to the presence of the Infinite Spirit. Allow yourself to enjoy the beauty of this moment of spiritual connection, as you listen to the music in the background. Reflect on the easing of your spiritual pathway as you accept the helping hand of the Divine Presence ... Know that in the infinite reaches of the Divine Power, wisdom, and awareness, you will always be secure in your journey through life.

And now, with a silent word of thanks to the Almighty in gratitude for these few moments of serenity and peace, you prepare to return to the here and now with a renewed sense of commitment to your path of spiritual enlightenment, and a feeling of being refreshed physically, mentally and emotionally, ready to face the coming days of the week, with renewed vigour and determination.

Opening your eyes now, feeling fine and in perfect health, much better than before.
