A Message from the President of

Spiritual Awakening Spiritualist Center

Dear Members and Friends, "Happy April, 2025"

I can't believe it's been 5 years this month since we closed down our church center due to the covid pandemic. And here we are in 2025, never having fully recovered from the loss of our Church Center. Fortunately, we have managed to hold most of our group together and even managed to add a few new members along the way. I fondly remember our in-person church services, circles and fellowship events, which our internet meeting just can't quite recreate. I hope and pray that one day we'll get back to where we were 5 years ago.

I have now taken up permanent residence in South Carolina. I love the quieter life this place affords. Less cars, cooler temperatures (for the most part), shorter (if any) lines in the supermarkets, and, not to forget, less people!

Even though I will no longer be living in Florida, I am continuing as President/ Secretary and Treasurer of the Church until such time that we can find a premises in the Kissimmee Area. Alas, I won't be able to be physically with you at all the events, but I will be with you on zoom, and when I make the occasional 400+ mile journey back to Florida.

This month we have our usual bevy of great mediums as well as guest medium Emma Scott from the UK on April 13th. I will endeavor to add as many new mediums as possible to our Sunday program in the following months. After all, Variety is the Spice of Life!

Love is a universal emotion. It is a fundamental human emotion that transcends cultural and social boundaries. While expressions and customs may vary, the underlying experience of love is shared by people around the world.

Love takes on various forms, the passionate intensity of romantic love, to the unwavering support of platonic love. Lives are enriched by the diverse ways in which love manifests.

Love between parents and children is a foundation of emotional support. Self love lays the groundwork for healthy relationships with others. Many people think that self love is an ego trip on the road to the evolvement of the soul, when really if we don't love ourselves, how can we ever love others? Love often begins with physical attraction which is a powerful emotion, and when that first burst of affection manifests itself, it can raise those involved to heights of unbelievable ecstacy.

Nothing in this life is everlasting, it either elevates one to a continuous flow of lasting love, forever emanating. However, it can be a temporary feeling, an illusion of a lacking need within the recipient to feel wanted.

The love of friendship or platonic love can be so intense and yet gives so much support to each person. This is what Helen Steiner Rice explains, "Friendship is a priceless gift that cannot be bought or sold," and so it becomes priceless when a human life is enriched by long lasting support and trust in that relationship. Temporary love is often a feeling of a deeper love that really doesn't exist, as its intensity is not set on a firm foundation. There is a need in some people for love, that any kind of

feeling of love is not captured in a true and fundamental lasting relationship. Our need as human beings is built on the fact that this God given gift is ours to either give and accept in

return, that gives meaning to our lives in a way that gives support and comfort in whatever relationship we desire. In a special relationship, love is so strong that it can forgive thedifficulties that can hurt and damage us and pull us apart, and make that wonderful gift of love even stronger. In our beautiful world there is so much negativity and angst, and we find it hard to forgive in many circumstances, however, love is the only way that we can all bring together the many factions of life, a bonding of strength that can be everlasting and permanent.

Let us concentrate on the positive element of life, the part that takes us all forward, and leave the negative element where it belongs in the horrors of the past. Negativity is weakness and as spiritualists we need to concentrate all of our energy on the positivity of LOVE, that God given gift that we all possess.
