What happened in February?

Members; Brian Jones, Irene Eusebio, Janine Russell, Paul Sherwood and Michael Davies all celebrated birthdays. Let 2023, be a Great Year for them!

My friend celebrated his birthday this year by buying an all-terrain 4- wheeler. This is a picture of him playing with it in his back yard.

I'm thinking about getting one too.

Life is fleeting by. Enjoy it while you can!

Getting old is easy - Having fun at it is the real trick!

February is an anniversary month for 'The Church of Spiritual Awakening' as it turned 23 years old. Here's to many more years of serving the community.

Don't forget, Daylight Saving Time 2023 begins Sunday, March 12.

Looking forward to seeing you again very soon!

Love and Light.

Michael

MEDITATION

Please click link below or picture to watch and hear Meditation:

Use this Guided Meditation to help Manifest Your Dreams and Goals.

This guided mediation uses self-hypnosis techniques to take you gently down into a deeply relaxed state from where you can ‘speak’ to your own subconscious mind of your life goals, dreams and desires.

In this alpha state the mind is extremely receptive, and what you tell it will become deeply embedded. All we will do is take you down into the alpha state. Your thoughts and intentions will be entirely your own.

This meditation will end with a series of gentle chimes to slowly bring you back after about 31 minutes, enabling you to continue with your day.

NOTE: This is the "wake-up" version of the Blissful Deep Sleep meditation we put up 2 days ago. This version has a series of chimes at the end of the meditation to wake you up at the end.

VOICES FROM THE PAST AND PRESENT

The Past:

Estelle Roberts

Estelle Roberts (10 May 1889 – 30 May 1970) was a British Spiritualist medium.

Born in Kensington in May 1889, May Estelle Wills was one of eight children, the only one who from her earliest recollections could hear spirit voices. Frequently beaten by her father to correct what he considered to be her unruly imagination as he had no understanding of Spiritualism whatsoever.

A frequent visitor from the spirit world was her brother, who had died before she was born. Many other spirit children would visit and it was a constant cause of concern when her parents would listen to her having conversations with them.

When she grew a little older, she went out to work at the age of fifteen. Estelle secured a position as a nursemaid to a family in Turnham Green, looking after the children, a position which she loved.

In later life Estelle was married twice. Firstly, to Hugh, with whom she was very happily married. Hugh understood about Estelle’s spirit friends and in due course they had three children of their own to look after.

They struggled to get by on Hugh’s limited income as a clerk, and after a few years Hugh fell ill and was thought to be suffering with Consumption which later turned out to be Bright’s disease. No longer able to work, Estelle had to support the family. With ten shillings per week from sickness benefits Estelle frequently went without meals to help feed the rest of her family.

The doctors advised a move closer to the sea to aid Hugh’s medical condition, so they moved the family to Hastings in Kent. Hugh tried to work but was just not able to attend regularly, so they took in paying guests to supplement their income. Frequently collapsing from hunger and exhaustion Estelle fought on to support the family.

Throughout this time, Estelle continued to enjoy the company of her spirit friends and she was sure this was all in preparation for something greater to follow.

Months later in May 1919, Hugh became seriously ill and eventually passed to the spirit world as Estelle sat with him and watched his spirit leave his body. The following few nights Estelle heard Hugh calling to her to join him. He later returned with a different message apologising for calling to her to join him.

At this time, Estelle decided to leave Hastings and move Hampton-upon-Thames with the children. She secured a position at a local factory which helped her to support the children. Becoming ill once again Estelle found herself unable to work for several months. When she was feeling a little better, she started to work as a waitress at Victoria station, which continued until she met and married Arthur Roberts.

Estelle was invited by a neighbour to attend Hampton Spiritualist church which she did regularly and began to understand a little more about Spiritualism. Singled out by one of the demonstrating mediums Estelle was told “You are a medium and have much work to do”.

Shortly after this, Estelle heard and saw Red cloud for the first time. This was the start of Estelle and Arthur sitting regularly in a darkened room to further her spiritual development.

In 1922 Estelle and Arthur had a son named Terry. Shortly after this, Estelle felt she had reached a stage in her development that she could work and help people with her mediumship. She longed to share her understanding with people and with the help from Red Cloud she worked among the people bringing messages of comfort to the bereaved. She also shared greater understanding of what she believed to be the truth about the afterlife.

Estelle continued to sit in her home circle with others including Maurice and Sylvia Barbanell, they always started by singing ‘Onward Christian Soldiers’ then a gramophone playing during the sitting. Singing and music give vibrations which are helpful to the spirit world. The record always played was “Rose Marie,” the Drury Lane musical comedy. After about ten minutes you see one of the trumpets move and soon the voice of Red Cloud, “God bless you all.”

SPIRITUALISM AND SPIRITUALISTS - What we Believe:

THE SOUL'S JOURNEY

Your Soul is on a constant journey and every moment is sacred and filled with amazing and infinite wonders" - Sharon Janis.

Spirituality is said to look at our world as a learning process for the soul. The earth being filled with so many experiences and everyday events, can bring us spiritual growth. We often refer to this world as a school of learning, as we have many lessons to learn which will enhance the growth of the soul.

Coming to this incarnation, we have taken on a human form and with the circumstances we face every day, we have the chance to grow through those experiences and learn the lessons which are necessary for the soul's evolution. All life is vibration and even the lowliest of creatures has life through vibration. Our thoughts may make us think that the tiniest of creatures are irrelevant, but they too are going through a process of refinement and progressing to a higher vibration Life never ends it continues to go through many vibrations for the soul's growth, which emanates through the many happy and difficult circumstances in our lives. This school of learning brings many different conditions into our lives, some of which can be upsetting and demoralizing whilst others can bring such happiness and joy. It is how we deal with each occasion, that we enable the soul to grow and refine, or just stay as it is.

Most of what we experience is mainly down to how we live our earthly life and how we deal with each situation. Challenging situations can often bring more growth to the soul when we learn to accept them and overcome the challenge The hardest knock can often bring the greatest reward to the soul, but the most wonderful results are when we are giving of ourselves for the benefit of other human beings. Spreading love amongst peoples of all nationalities or religious understanding can help to take away the misunderstanding and ignorance of other people's way of life. Just because we don't understand other belief systems doesn't mean that they are wrong, or we are right.

The lessons of your life are designed by this intelligent universe to teach, refine, strengthen, purify, bless and enlighten you. The inner transformation and growth of your soul is the most important thing, so if you meet apparent failures head on without remorse, but with respect for the experience, you can resolve to improve your responses in the future. It is for each one of us to equate ourselves with the saying, "do unto others as you would have them do unto you," as this will bring to the soul enlightenment and liberation.

Each incarnation for the soul is a journey of discovery and enlightenment, for the soul has an eternity to develop, learn and grow. This physical life offers much for us to learn, but the learning doesn't stop there, it continues when the task on earth has finished, and the next task begins at the time of physical death. Life is eternal and the growth and refinement for the soul continues from one level of consciousness to the next, and the next. Spiritualism teaches us to live in accordance with God's natural laws, to love and respect each other no matter what our achievements in life may be, for each of us is equal in the big scheme of life.

St Patrick - The Irish Legend

A young Christian boy attends a druid worship that is attacked by invading Irish tribes. Taken captive, he is taken back to Ireland to become a slave. Enduring many hardships, he finds comfort and eventually salvation in his faith. After several years, he escapes back to England, where he joins a convent to prove his faith. His greatest desire is to return to Ireland to convert the Irish to Christianity. Years later, he is given the opportunity. As soon as he sets foot on Irish soil. all of the snakes automatically flee from the land. He then overcomes many obstacles, including disagreements with the British Cardinal (Malcolm McDowell), to fulfill his destiny, and his ultimately given Sainthood.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT

Broken

I was in morrisons last night, and there was a lady and two kids behind me in the line. One was a big kid, and the other one was a toddler. The bigger one had a pack of glow sticks, and the toddler was screaming for them. The Mum opened the pack and gave him one which stopped his tears. He walked around with it smiling; but then the bigger boy took it, and the toddler started screaming again.

Just as the Mother was about to fuss, the older child bent the glow stick and handed it back to the toddler. As we walked outside at the same time, the toddler noticed that the stick was now glowing; and his brother said, "I had to break it so that you could get the full effect from it."

I almost ran, because l could hear God saying to me, "I had to break you to show you why I created you. You had to go through it so you could fulfill your purpose."

That precious child was happy just swinging that "unbroken" glow stick around in the air, because he didn't understand what it was created to do - which was "glow".

There are some people who will be content just "being," but some of us are chosen... we have to be "broken." We have to get sick. We have to lose a job. We go through a divorce. We have to bury our spouse, parents, best friend, or our child... In those moments of desperation, We were broken.

But... when the breaking is done, then we will be able to see the reason for which we were created. So when you see us glowing, just know that we have been broken.

FROM THE BOARD

Spiritual Awakening Church and Spiritual Center Board Meeting.

We had our first board meeting of 2023 on Saturday, February 19th at 10:30am. We send out a very big 'Thank You' to Chris and Marion Gunn for hosting the meeting, and for the excellent Brunch which Marion provided after the meeting finished.

Highlights from the meeting:

Property Search:

Michael and Patsy reported that they had been out on 3 separate occasions over the last 2 weeks in the Kissimmee area, looking at properties suitable for our Spiritualist Center. Thank you to Tanya for allowing us to use her offices as a temporary home.

They also sent out thanks to Karan Hall (realtor) for continuing to search for listings as they become available. We know that the right place is out there, we just haven't found it yet. But we will.

Sunday Services:

For the most part, our lecturers and message bearers will attend in-person at the temporary center we are using for Laying on of Hands Healing and Services on Sundays.

Other topics discussed were Finances. Schedules. Planed Social Events. Up and Coming Classes and Workshops.

The next Board Meeting will be held in April 2023.

THE FUNNY CORNER

THIS SOUNDS LIKE GOOD ADVICE TO ME.

Robert Mondovi drank a bottle of wine every day of his adult life (and I am sure as a youth he drank too),he lived to be 94.

I Love This Japanese Doctor

Q: Doctor, I've heard that cardiovascular exercise can prolong life. Is this true?

A: Heart only good for so many beats, and that's it... Don't waste time on exercise. Everything wear out eventually. Speeding up heart not make you live longer; it’s like saying you extend life of a car by driving faster. Want to live longer? - Take nap.

Q: Should I reduce my alcohol intake?

A: Oh no. Wine made from fruit. Fruit very good. Brandy distilled wine, that means they take water out of fruity bit so you get even more of goodness that way. Beer also made of grain. Grain good too. - Bottoms up!

Q: What are some of the advantages of participating in a regular exercise program?

A: Can't think of one, sorry. My philosophy: No pain...very good!

Q: Aren't fried foods bad for you?

A: YOU NOT LISTENING! Food fried in vegetable oil. How can getting more vegetable be bad?

Q: Is chocolate bad for me?

A: You crazy?!? HEL-LO-O-O!! Cocoa bean! Another vegetable! It best feel-good food around.

Q: Is swimming good for your figure?

A: If swimming good for figure, explain whale to me.

Q: Is getting in shape important for my lifestyle?

A: Hey! 'Round' is also a shape!

Well... I hope this has cleared up any misconceptions you may have had about food and diets.

And remember:

Finally, the Japanese Doctor summed up: Look mister, Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Beer in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO-HOO, what a ride my life was"!!!!!

Eat whatever you like because you will still DIE, don't allow motivational speakers deceive you.

1. The inventor of the treadmill died at the age of 54.

2. The inventor of gymnastics died at the age of 57.

3. The world bodybuilding champion died at the age of 41.

4. The best footballer in the world Maradona died at the age of 60.

BUT

5. The KFC inventor died at 94.

6. Inventor of Nutella brand died at the age of 88.

7. Imagine, cigarette maker Winston died at the age of 102.

8. The inventor of opium died at the age of 116 in an earthquake.

9. The Hennessey Cognac inventor died at 98.

How did these doctors come to the conclusion that exercise prolongs life?
The rabbit is always jumping up and down but it lives for only 2 years and the turtle that doesn’t exercise at all, lives 400 years.

So, take some rest, Chill, stay cool, eat, drink and enjoy your life.

SIMPLY DELICIOUS

St. Patrick's Day Recipe: Vegan Irish Soda Bread (Oil-Free)

Please CLICK HERE or on PICTURE to WATCH short VIDEO

Ingredients

1 & 3/4 cups unsweetened almond milk

2 teaspoons apple cider vinegar

2 cups whole wheat pastry flour

1/3 cup raw sugar

1 teaspoon baking soda

1 & 1/4 teaspoons sea salt

1 cup regular or golden raisins

1. Mix together the almond milk and apple cider vinegar and set aside. Then mix together the dry ingredients, including the raisins. Pour the milk mixture in with the dry ingredients and mix until the batter is a dough-like consistency, but not too wet or soggy.

2. If the dough seems dry, add more water or almond milk, 1 tablespoon at a time.

3. Knead the dough for about 30 seconds. Avoid over kneading the dough, otherwise it will become too tough.

4. Then place the dough on a greased pan or on a silicone mat or parchment paper. Cut an "X" shape on top of the dough.

5. Bake the bread for approximately 30 minutes at 425 degrees F. Check the center of the bread with a toothpick to ensure that it has been cooked through. Enjoy!
