Members and Friends,

Happy May to you all!
As
we edge closer to summer, we are all starting to feel the warmer weather
creep in. I have noticed a lot more birds around the house, and to me
birds always make me feel like a spiritual presence is visiting. We
get so busy with our everyday lives that we often forget to center ourselves
and get back to basics. It is never a waste of time to take some time
for oneself and go to your quiet place for a little T.L.C and meditation.
As Silver Birch said: 'Time spent in spiritual pursuit is never wasted'.
For
me, May has always felt like a transition month taking us from spring
to summer. Navigating through change is often difficult and can cause
depression and sadness. Alternatively, change can bring new beginnings
with ultimate joy. Wherever we find ourselves in life try to embrace
what you are going through knowing that in the great scheme of things
you are where you are because it is where you need to be. Your whole
life has been a long road leading exactly to this moment.
I
hope that May brings you happiness, peace and wisdom, with a better
understanding and sense of direction and purpose.

Journalist
Sian Eleri returns for a third series, this time to investigate
the case of Scottish medium Helen Duncan.
Duncan,
who was born in Callander, Scotland, on November 25th, 1897, maintains
the dubious distinction of being the last person to be imprisoned
under the 1735 Witchcraft Act.
|
|
A
practicing medium who would often participate in seances, Duncan
was said to have communicated with the spirits of the dead and
often produced physical manifestations made of 'ectoplasm'.
In
one case during World War II, she claimed to have contacted the
spirit of a sailor who had died aboard the HMS Barham.
It
later transpired that this particular ship had indeed sunk, but
that the news had been kept secret as part of an effort to mislead
the Germans.

|
|
Once
word of this got around, Duncan became even more in demand than
ever.
That
said, there was growing concern among the authorities that her
methods were fraudulent.
This
came to a head in 1944 when she was arrested following a police
raid of a seance she was attending. She was imprisoned for several
months on the basis that she had been falsely claiming to have
produced spirits, which was considered a crime under the Witchcraft
Act of 1735.

|
It
wasn't long afterward that the act itself was repealed by the
government.
In
1956, she was arrested again following yet another raid on a seance
and although she was not charged, she died at her home not long
afterward.
|
Some
speculated that she had been killed by the impact of ectoplasm
snapping back into her body when the light was unexpectedly
turned on during the seance, though in reality she had suffered
from several health problems that likely contributed to her
death.l
|

Churchill and Britain's 'last witch':
How

In
April 1944, prime minister Winston Churchill had a lot on his
plate.
Chief
among his many worries was, of course, the direction of the
fight against Nazi Germany as war continued to rage.
It
is therefore remarkable that he found the time to intervene
in a matter that was, on paper, well beneath him.
|
|
|
|
In
a furious memo to his home secretary, Herbert Morrison, he demanded
to know why 'the Witchcraft Act, 1735, was used in a modern Court
of Justice.'
For
what reason, he added, had the courts been occupied with this
'obsolete tomfoolery'?
His fury was directed at the case of Scottish medium Helen Duncan,
who had been arrested three months earlier while conducting a
seance in Plymouth.
|
Dozens
of people claimed to have spoken to dead loved ones with the
help of Duncan, who would ultimately be convicted of fraud at
the Old Bailey and then jailed.
But
as four-part BBC programme Paranormal: Britain's Last Witch
reveals from tonight, Duncan's case is far from straightforward.
Presenter Sian Eleri is left horrified when she listens to a
chilling recording of one of Duncan's seances, where the medium
voices a male 'spirit'.

year brings promises of a much better life for human beings
and all animal life in this beautiful planet we call earth.Technology
promises to make life easier for all mankind, can take people
into space, can create munitions that can kill indiscriminately,
and yet by the majority of people are considered necessary,
men are taking power over the whole of mankind through threats
of suffocating the majority for the benefits of the so called
superior minds.

|
Where,
we ask, has Love, Compassion and Spirituality gone in this world
of competition to be the best and the richest in society? Our
trust for those who stand for high office has dwindled due to
the many promises made before we choose those to lead us. Nationalistic
minds have taken over with the promise to make their country
powerful and rich, and their understanding of rich has been
lost in greed. How can someone in power cover their so-called
religious beliefs and accuse God of directing them? Which God
is to blame in this situation we ask ourselves, is it the God
of Power, of greed or of ignorance? for none of them in reality
exist.
|
The
whole universe and beyond has developed through many stages
to provide a human life for all of the human race who have
attained that stage of development.
From
times when great teachers entered the realm of physical life
and brought their true teachings of this life, those who
felt threatened by the truth have opposed their wisdom. So
how is 2025 going to refrain from this great betrayal and
open the door to the true reality of life, when those in such
power think that they know it all.

|
Life
is a search for truth through which spiritual advancement will
progress, bringing with it a purpose to life and an often searched
for happiness, Genuine power comes from being at one with God
the creator and living within God's natural laws, which never
change, and are the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. Richness
in life comes from respecting each other and the pathways that
they are treading through this physical life. Wars are not the
answer to disagreements, and confrontation only brings destruction
and unnecessary suffering to mankind.

Bertrand
Russell said, "War does not determine who is right, only who
is left." Only those who trust in the Great Spirit we call
God can change the mindset of those whose intent is to make
mannkind follow their pathway of deceit, and so may the power
that is beyond our perception and greater than all life, bring
those of spiritual worth into society and bring a great change
for not only a better world, but a future life of freedom and
happiness for all of God's children.

May
your Spirit and Soul guide you through this life experience,
for to me, the Soul is the Spirit within, the Spirit is the
body through which it expresses itself, it is consciousness.
|
FOOD
FOR THOUGHT
In
order to find pure joy in our life we must let go of what is no longer
serving our higher good. Everything is a lesson and growth and nothing
is wasted, but sometimes we have to make peace with what we can't change
and move into the new energy of the here and now.... For years anxiety
crippled me, the older I get the more I truly recognise we just have
to be ourselves and those that are our tribe will love us wholeheartedly
and I feel loved and peaceful. Be excited for the here and now and love
all of this crazy, rollercoaster ride, we call life. I love all of my
life and am grateful for the sunshine days, the rainy ones and the rainbows
make it magical.
