Message from the President of
Spiritual
Awakening Spiritualist Center
Dear
Members and Friends,
As
we move into September, we see the start of Fall. Here in Florida, we
can start to look forward to some cooler weather on the way. Personally,
my favorite season.
I'm sure that some of you must feel (as I do) a certain level of frustration
that we have until now been unable to find a suitable 'permanent place'
for our church center to establish a home. Needless to say, we are constantly
on the lookout and searching every day. We're so grateful for the many
suggestions and information about properties you've sent in. So, please
let's keep our spirits high and continue the search until we are successful.
Thank you.
Zoom
has been a great tool enabling members and friends to keep in
touch these past four years. When attending Zoom services and
circles, please remember to click on the donate button which I have
placed next to the Zoom link for convenience. We really need to build
up a monthly contribution so we can budget for rent payments once we
commit to a lease. So, making a small donation when attending these
events would help a lot. Some of you have opted to donate monthly, which
is really appreciated, and is a great way for us to budget. Thank you!
Thank
you so much for the kind words and acknowledgment of my ordination last
month. After so long, I finally made it to ordination. I feel so grateful
and honored. Please read the lovely letter from Rev. Mary Kingslien
below.

Dear
Michael and friends -
I
was so very happy to see in the Newsletter that this
Sunday, August 4th, a very special event is taking place
... the Ordination of Michael Davies.
My
heart is so very grateful that you have continued your
journey of study to achieve this milestone in your Spiritual
Life. Your commitment to the Religion of Spiritualism
and the church has been a special gift to me as you
have carried on the torch of providing a loving and
welcoming home for those who are searching for a Spiritual
Home and the comfort that Spirit so lovingly bestows
upon those who are seeking.
It
is hard to believe that the church will be 25 years
old next year, yet it warms my heart to also know that
we have touched many people who have come through the
doors and found a home where they can be themselves
and experience the beauty of Spirit.
Keep
up the good work Reverend Michael Davies and know that
you are the champion to carry on and spread awareness
of our beautiful religion to the area.
May
Spirit Bless You Always and Thank You for your continued

What
has happened to mankind that has taken him into a world controlled
by the outer chamber, or the objective mind. The outer mind
controls all of the material aspects of human life and we have
lost the ability to enter into the spiritual Centre of our being,
the objective mind, being the inner sanctuary of the mind.
Our
minds are filled with unimportant details which hinder our spiritual
connection with the Divine, the details that control all aspects
of our daily experiences. These experiences begin

to affect our lives so that we make decisions which are of a negative
kind, and that energy can take control of many aspects of our
lives. |

We
see this every day in the conditions of our world where mankind's
energy is controlled by what he desires in his life. The beauty
of expression comes from within, and all things are subjective
to those inner thoughts and realities. When we wake up in the
morning and the sky is dull and grey, we automatically sink
into the thought that our day is going to be difficult. But
if we consider that within the darkness of life is the reality
of what we can do within that experience to make our day full
of light and happiness.

| The
power of man is often being used to destroy the beauty of our
earth, to gain power over our fellow human beings for our own
benefit. It is often said that we either make our "Heaven on earth"
or our own "Hell on earth." We have the tools to achieve both,
but within the Centre of our being we are crying out to do the
thing which will benefit us, as well as all of mankind. The objective
mind tells us that we cannot change the inevitable, but the subjective
mind knows that there is nothing that |

|
|
we cannot achieve if we put our trust in the Divine essence
that is within each of us. The subjective mind being known as
the subconscious mind is the mind of the soul, whilst the objective
mind controls the brain upon which the decisions within our
world are acted upon. Understanding the aspects of both and
dwelling on the positive results of the conscious mind, we can
rid ourselves of the ego and all that leads us into negativity
in our lives. Let us direct our thoughts to harmonize with the
higher self and direct ourselves to a proper attunement with
our inner consciousness.

The Wisdom
of Silver Birch
Silver
Birch is arguably the most famous guide and prolific teacher
in the history of Spiritualism. Though presenting himself as
a North American Indian the wisdom of this timeless master transcends
both history and culture.
The
philosophy of Silver Birch was channeled over an incredible
61 years by trance medium and founder of Psychic News, Maurice
Barbanell.
Silver
Birch not only provides us with a comprehensive description
of the Spirit realm and its relation to the material plane we
temporarily call home, his words also provide a blueprint for
living a purposeful and ultimately satisfying life.

The
message of Silver Birch is an excellent introduction for newcomers
to Spiritualism, an ongoing source of inspiration for established
Spiritualists, and food for thought for even the most hardened
skeptics.

On
The Spirit World
Silver
Birch made it clear that the spirit world is not “dreamy or nebulous.”
Spirits are busy with activities just as they are in the physical
world. In the spirit world, the mental is real and the physical
is a shadow. For example, when one dreams, things seem real at the
time. The dream only becomes ethereal when the person wakes up.

Healing
He
emphasized that the Great Spirit, the apex of love and wisdom and
compassion, provides everyone with the opportunity to find themselves
and begin to live, not in superstition, ignorance, or darkness,
but in the full light of knowledge, with serenity and confidence
as their constant companions.

Birch was asked about EARTHLY LIFE'S PURPOSE:

replied: "The whole
object of earthly life is to have a variety of experiences that
will fit the spirit for the next stage beyond earth when you have
to pass into our world. That is why you come to earth in the first
place. Earth is the training ground, the school where the spirit
learns its lessons which will provide its equipment for the life
beyond earth .... "

Silver
Birch was also asked about FEAR:

He
replied:
"Perfect love casteth out fear. Knowledge dispels fear, for
fear is born of ignorance. Where there is love and trust and knowledge,
there fear cannot reign. An evolved spirit cannot be afraid at
any time, because he knows that there is no experience that can
come to him in any phase of life that he cannot master, for he
is the Great Spirit. Fear creates its own prison for the soul.
You must learn to rise above fear and not allow its vibrations
to hinder you, so have perfect faith and confidence and trust,
to know that you can stand on your own feet and say: "I am the
Great Spirit and the wind of circumstance cannot shake me. I will
rise triumphant over every difficulty because of the infinite
power which is within my soul" You have power over every circumstance..."
