UPDATES AND ANNOUNCEMENTS

A Message from the President of

Spiritual Awakening Spiritualist Center

Dear Members and Friends,

As we approach this Independence Day, we are reminded of the blessings of freedom and the responsibility it carries. July 4th marks the 250th anniversary of America’s birth — a day when we give thanks for the courage, vision, and sacrifice that shaped our nation. Yet, as Spiritualists, our hearts are called to look beyond borders.

True freedom is not only the liberty of a nation, but the liberation of the human spirit through God’s love. This year, I invite us to pray not only for our country, but for the entire world — that peace may take root where there is conflict, that justice may flourish where there is oppression, and that hope may rise where there is despair.

May the fireworks in our skies be a symbol of light breaking through darkness everywhere, and may the joy of this day be shared by all people, in every land. Let us live as ambassadors of reconciliation, so that one day, July 4th will not only be America’s celebration, but a global testimony to the power of unity, compassion, and divine grace.

Wishing you love and peace.

Happy Independence Day!.

Michael

FRIENDS OLD AND NEW

Sadly, one of our oldest and dearest church members past to spirit recently.

Chris Huftill was known to many of us as a regular attendee who loved and supported her church for many years. Chris also served on the church board as secretary (2002) & (2011-2013).

We all send our condolences to her family and friends, as we remember Chris with love and affection.

SPIRITUALISM AND SPIRITUALISTS

Different insights into Spiritualism's Philosophy and Beliefs:

Featured Article Contributed by Rev. Al Potts.

Here you are - in your body and in this world. There's no sense in worrying too much about how you got here since you're already here. A better approach is to focus on what you should be doing now that you are here. But where is the instruction manual? Carl Jung said: "As far as we can discern, the sole purpose of human existence is to kindle a light of meaning in the darkness of mere being." As the saying goes, "There is no manual for life on this earth plane."

In the beginning most people are unaware that there is a purpose to life, having moved from another level of consciousness and entering into a human body of matter, something alien to the enquiring soul. This remember is a new awakening to a human experience for the soul and a learning process is just beginning.

We are told by those learned ones who have gone before that, choosing to enter into the human experience and the rigors of that physical body, we have accepted all that goes with it, as an opportunity to learn and grow spiritually. The Soul's journey is a long one eventually moving from one level of consciousness to the next level of progression. Coming into a world of matter the physical experience will either offer us great moments of joy, but also the opportunity to avoid  difficulties which can delay the positive  actions necessary to refine the soul on its movement through many more difficult decisions.

Life on this beautiful planet was not promised to be good for all occasions, as we would not learn the lessons here that would take us to greater levels in the next phase of eternal life. Those who have come before to offer their great knowledge of eternal life have been thwarted by the many leaders of the various religions who's set creeds and dogmas have destroyed the right of mankind to search for the reality of life. Instead, we have been manacled to the controlling influence of these marauding masses, and fear has taken over from the opportunities to progress. In a way, the soul is at the mercy of these improper teachings, as they allow not one person to think for themselves and to decide the positive way through this life for the soul.

According to Carl Jung's understanding, the sole purpose of a human experience is to kindle a light of meaning in the darkness of mere being. In other words, we have an opportunity to be a shining light not only for our own progression, but to widen the experience of all those whose lives we touch and give them the chance to delve into the reality of why they are here.

Life in this world, whose darkness is being precipitated by ruthless men, whose only ambition in their misguided minds is to control our minds through lies, but most definitely by  making many believe that they are God sent. Let us change the dower conditions of this beautiful  planet, created by that power, which is beyond our comprehension, but that we know as our God, the word coming originally from the word good, and turning this world into a  brighter and more spiritual experience for the children who are coming after us.

We need to diffuse the light of negativity and learn to understand that wars and disagreements are backward steps to the development of all that exists in this wonderful planet and create the reality of all life into a friendly existence for all learning souls in this life., The progression of our soul will take us into each stage of our eternal life with a willing heart.

Rev. Al Potts.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT

Master your words and you begin to master how people perceive your character.

When someone says thank you, most people reply with your welcome. It sounds polite, but without realizing it, you may be minimizing your own effort. Words may seem small, but the way you speak shades how others perceive you. The Stoics believe that a disciplined mind is reflected in disciplined speech. Today you'll learn 8 responses that strengthen your presence and confidence.

1st, When someone says thank you, don't simply say you're welcome. Instead say 'it was my pleasure' or 'you can always count on me.' This shows that your time and effort carry value.

2nd, when you arrive late, don't say sorry I'm late, say 'thank you for waiting. I appreciate your patience.' You shift the focus from guilt to gratitude.

3rd, when someone asks what you want to eat, don't reply with whatever. Say 'you choose. I trust your taste' because calm confidence signals leadership.

4th, when someone asks if you know how to do something, don't quickly say I don't know, say 'I can learn it quickly' because capability and willingness matter more than an idiot.

5th, When you don't know an answer, don't say no idea. Instead say 'that's interesting. What do you think?' This shows curiosity rather than ignorance.

6th, When someone compliments you, don't deflect it or brush it away. Simply say 'thank you'. That means a lot because receiving appreciation with confidence. Show self-respect.

7th, When a guest says there is too much food, don't apologize for your generosity. Instead, say 'you deserve to enjoy it' because true generosity doesn't need an apology.

8th, Certainly, always be mindful of how you speak. Every word you choose either strengthens your presence or weakens it. The Stoics believes speech should always be thoughtful and Intentional. Because the way you speak shapes how the world responds to you. Master your words and you begin to master how people perceive your character.
