A Message from the President of Spiritual Awakening Spiritualist Center
Dear Members and Friends, With the commencement of a new month, it brings opportunities for a fresh start. Many of us will be preparing for the fall and subsequently winter, welcoming the cooler weather which will enable us to get some yard work done in more agreeable temperatures. As things start to cool down a little, hopefully it will help slow down the pace of life, allowing us more time to meditate and reflect on the important things. This month I have added some inspirational quotes in the newsletter which will give 'Food for Thought' and help center us and give direction for what is important and guiding. Please remember to mark your calendars and plan to attend our Sunday services and Tuesday Circles when possible. As Spiritualists it is important to keep our community together. Attending services and events is an essential way to support Spiritualism and continue your involvement in a way of life you believe in, and belong to. Zoom is not necessarily your favorite way to attend, but we should be grateful that it is available to keep us united until such time we are able to get back to in person meetings. I sincerely look forward to seeing you soon! Sending Much Love and Joy to you ALL. Happy September! Michael thechurchofspiritualawakening@msn.com

SPIRITUALISM AND SPIRITUALISTS - What we Believe: Featured Article Contributed by Rev. Al Potts.
Oh Lord! if the Goddess of wisdom were to write for all eternity with a pen made from a branch of the best of all celestial trees, using the whole earth as her writing pad; and if the mass of ink used equaled the blue mountains, and the ocean were her ink pot - still it would be impossible to express the true fullness of your attributes

FOOD FOR THOUGHT Food For Thought Quotes “The unexamined life is not worth living.” – Socrates We all have our routines, but Socrates reminds us that reflecting on our lives can lead us to deeper understanding. By examining our choices and experiences, we can grow and find deeper meaning in our daily actions. This quote encourages us to take time to think about our values, goals, and relationships. Remember, a life without reflection might lack direction and purpose. ______________________________________________________ “To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson Emerson’s words inspire us to embrace our individuality in a society filled with pressures to conform. It can be tempting to fit in, but true success comes from being authentic. We should celebrate our unique qualities and perspectives, as they contribute to our journey and the world around us. Staying true to ourselves is one of our most significant achievements. ______________________________________________________ “Life is what happens when you’re busy making other plans.” – John Lennon Lennon’s quote serves as a gentle reminder to stay present. Sometimes, we focus so much on our future goals that we forget to enjoy the moment we’re in. Life is full of unexpected twists and turns, and embracing the here and now allows us to fully appreciate the journey. Let’s take a moment to appreciate today while still dreaming about tomorrow. ______________________________________________________ “What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson This quote by Emerson inspires us to look inward. Our true strength and potential come from within. Rather than dwelling on past mistakes or stressing about future challenges, we should tap into our inner qualities and resilience. Understanding ourselves can empower us to overcome obstacles and achieve our dreams. ______________________________________________________ “The only way to do great work is to love what you do.” – Steve Jobs Jobs highlights the importance of passion in our pursuits. When we genuinely love our work, it leads to outstanding results. Acknowledging what we are passionate about can guide our careers and enrich our lives. Let’s strive to find what brings us joy and make it a central part of our journey. ______________________________________________________ “The
greatest glory in living lies not in never falling, but in rising every
time we fall.” Mandela’s message centers around resilience. Every setback offers us a chance to learn and grow. Embracing failure as part of our journey helps us build character and strength. Instead of fearing failure, let’s welcome it as a stepping stone toward success, allowing ourselves to rise every single time we face challenges. ______________________________________________________ “Our
lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter.”
King emphasizes the power of our voices. Speaking up for what we believe in shapes our lives and the world around us. When we stay silent about important issues, we deny ourselves the opportunity to influence change. Let’s be brave and share our thoughts, using our voices to make a difference. ______________________________________________________
